WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR A PAINT JOB?
For Interior jobs please ensure all pictures on walls, nails, hooks etc are removed and the walls are cleaned from cobwebs and dust. In addition furniture and carpets must be kept out of the way leaving a minimum of 1.5 meters margin from each surface to be painted. For exterior jobs please again clean walls of cobwebs and ensure that no bushes and plants are in the way. In addition all valuables must be taken away or locked in a place with no access to Advanced Painting Group. Finally for both interior and exterior jobs all pets must be contained at all times. Your assistance in this area will influence the completion time and quality of the overall job.

I HAVE AN ALLERGY, ARE THERE SPECIAL PAINTS I COULD USE?
Ideally if you suffer from an allergy it would be advisable to avoid paint odours until dry which will take approximately 1 day. However some manufacturers make low odour paints. Generally water-based (latex or acrylic) paints will have less odour than solvent-based paints as they do not have the same chemical composition. Latex paints are safe to use for people who suffer from latex allergies. Latex paint is not made from latex rubber.

I'M PREGNANT AND HAVE SMALL CHILDREN. SHOULD I PROCEED WITH PAINTING MY HOUSE AT THIS STAGE?
Particular concern for pregnant women and children is lead based paint and lead-contaminated dust. It is best to let us pain your home while you are out of the house. We also comply with all Australian Health and Safety regulations and suggest that rooms are well ventilated, paint lids are placed on paint cans and all equipment such as ladders etc are stored away after use.
|
WHAT KIND OF MAINTENANCE WOULD YOU RECOMMEND AFTER PAINTING IS COMPLETE?
Firstly after the paint job is completed we ensure that we leave you with some touch up paint and the details of the brand of paint used, colour number etc so that when it comes to repainting you can match colours. We also recommend cleaning of dirt and scuff marks on interior surfaces immediately with soap and water. Don't use abrasive cleaners or scrub newly painted surfaces before the paint has cured (usually two weeks). Also on a regular basis you should walk around the exterior of your home looking for dry rot, water penetration, cracks, and chalking. Once a year it is a good idea to wash your home to remove the accumulation of surface dirt. We do not recommend the use of high pressure washes as it may cause damage to surfaces. If used it is recommended to employ a reputed organization who will attempt cleaning with all precautions in place.
