Reference for Joe and his team at Advanced Painting
I have no hesitation in warmly recommending Joe and his team at Advanced Painting. We are just finishing extensive renovations to our Edwardian Timber Cottage, and their paintwork is a proud feature. For example traditional front is painted in three near-heritage colours, with delicate painted detailing around the frieze work and motif firework panels of the front verandas and picket fence.
They prepared and painted the complete job, inside, outside and front fence. They were on-time, on-cost and on-quality. In addition the painters were unfailingly cheerful, meticulous and cooperative. Even when other trades needed to get in their way; they just adjourned to another room or area, and kept going. Verbal and written communication via Joe to his team proved effective and accurate.
A large part of their success lies in their careful preparation before the top coats are applied. For example, some of our internal walls and high ceilings were slightly cracked, 100 year-old lathe-and-plaster. I expected them to paint them “as is”, but that would not satisfy Joe, who insisted on carefully plaster-filling and sanding the imperfections. The same applied to the patched drill-holes in the plaster through which EcoFoam insulation had been injected. Some of the external weatherboards were new, so Joe and team filled and sanded the nail heads and all gaps around the ends of boards. When the mid-winter weather was too cold or wet for external work, they retreated to prepare and paint inside and popped out again as soon as a decent spell of weather loomed.
They used premium Dulux paints for all coats, including high gloss oil based enamel in internal woodwork and wet areas, and gloss Weathersheild on all external work. The finish on the internal doors and architraves is so glossy and smooth, that visitors compare it favourably to nearby cabinetry, whose cupboard doors were factory finished in 2-pack epoxy paint.

Joe and his team painted both the inside and outside of our house – during a renovation is early 2010.
They did the most amazing job and as a result, the first thing people comment on when they come into our newly renovated house – is the amazing painted job!
Their attention to detail and perfectionist nature, turned our old house into something that looks brand new.
As well as being brilliant painters – Joe’s team were always very polite and friendly. Joe especially was always a delight to deal with and nothing was too much trouble for him.
